Based on the true story of Cape Flats gangster Ernie ‘Lastig’ Solomon, A Lucky Man is the debut feature film from Gordon Clark, an award-winning commercials director and stills photographer. Searle Street Post supplied the digital intermediate (DI), grade, online and deliverables.

UPDATE: Congrats to Triggerfish for winning The South African Film and Television Award for Best Animation for Adventures in Zambezia this weekend – it’s a landmark film that deserves all its success. 

Searle Street Post handled the digital intermediate (DI) on Adventures in Zambezia, the closing night film at this month’s Durban International Film Festival, where it won Best South African Film.

Directed by Wayne Thornley, this 3D animated feature from Triggerfish Animation is the story of a young falcon who leaves the desolate desert where he lives with his father to discover action and adventure in the big city of Zambezia.

A-list voice talent includes Samuel L. Jackson and Abigail Breslin.

UPDATE: Congrats to Ronelle Loots for winning Best Editor and Chris Barnard for winning Best Writer at the South African Film and Television Awards this weekend for Die Wonderwerker - the awards are well deserved.

Searle Street Post recently supplied the digital intermediate (DI), grade, online, VFX and deliverables for Die Wonderwerker, the first film in over a decade by Paljas director Katinka Heyns.

Currently on circuit at Ster Kinekor and generating rave reviews, Die Wonderwerker is a love quadrangle about Eugene Marais, a remarkable poet,  naturalist, and high-functioning morphine addict.

Searle Street Post supplied the digital dailies to Mary & Martha, a made-for-TV movie that premiered on BBC One this weekend to talk of Emmy Awards.

Double-Oscar-winner Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby, Boys Don’t Cry) stars as Mary and double-Oscar-nominee Brenda Blethlyn (Atonement, Secrets & Lies) stars as Martha in this story of two mothers who lose their children to Malaria. It’s written by Oscar-nominee Richard Curtis (Love Actually, War Horse) and directed by Philip Noyce (Salt, Revenge).

Mary & Martha was shot in South Africa with Moonlighting.
